Mia was born to the Main Family of the Kurain village, with the head being her mother, Misty Fey. She had come to know about how the Fey family had a history of family bickering over who gets to be the head of the village, and so not to cause Maya any grief in regards to the succession, Mia left, wanting to find out what really happened to her mother in the DL-6 case. It was with that mindset that she attended law school, meeting Lana Skye, her intellectual challenge/match. Lana was in her third year of school, and Mia was auditing the class Lana had been taking at that time. After she left law school, she started working at Grossberg Law Offices with Marvin Grossberg as her boss and Souryuu Kaminogi as her co-worker (and her lover!). She brought down Chinami Miyanagi in her second case after having lost to her in her first case. After that, she started her own law office, Fey and Co. Law Offices, eventually taking Phoenix Wright in under her wing. She taught him as much as she could until she met an early death at the hands of Redd White. However, she could come back with the help of a spiritual mediator, as she had done with her sister Maya and her cousin Pearl at various times to help her protogé. Finally, there came a time when Mia had taught Phoenix everything she knew.

Mia has become one who remains cool under pressure. Even if she is nervous, she tries to hide it. She's very intellgent and very independent, as exemplified when she left Kurain to go investigate what really happened with her mother in the DL-6 case. Truth is a major priority to her, and she will go to any length to uncover the truth.

Mia has waist-length, chestnut colored hair that is parted over the eye. The front part flips slightly up and goes behind the ear, whereas the rest of it flows down her back. She has sharp, brown eyes and a pretty smile, with a beauty mark on the right side of her face just below her right cheek, near her chin. She wears a beige-colored scarf around her neck that goes down to her waist. She wears a blue Magatama jewel around her neck, the string partially concealed by her scarf. As for her dress, she wears a form-fitting black suitdress that zips up in the front and goes down to about mid-thigh. Underneath the suitdress, she wears a gray bodice. The dress reveals a lot of cleavage. The collar is white and ends just below her breasts. Her long legs end with white, chunky-heeled shoes on her feet. However, now that she's a ghost, she just takes her face and her chest with a bit of her bangs coming down on her face based on the original hair style of the mediator, along with the clothes fitted for her proportions.
